Troy Ramey kicked off 2020 with the re-release of “Rosary,” a song he first released six years ago.
And he called the recreation of the song “one of the highlights of my entire career.”
That has a lot to do with how it happened.
Dante Lattanzi produced the track, recorded in the White Plains Deliverance Center Church with the New York Fellowship Choir providing a vocal assist.
“This was a dream come true,” Troy writes on Instagram. As stupid as this may sound, as a kid I dreamt of becoming a singer when I saw Lauryn Hill in Sister Act 2.
“This absolutely incredible choir and group of musicians has helped to give a song that is very special to me a whole new beautiful life. Massive thanks to all who helped make this happen!”
Troy was a standout on The Voice Season 12 and racked up 1.3 million streams of his songs on Spotify in 2019.
Here’s the new live performance of “Rosary,” courtesy of WARM Audio. I’m also embedding the original music video that Troy released back in 2014.
