Two new singles from a former Idol semifinalist

Kristen McNamara's single Pirate is available on iTunes.
Sorry, but I wasn’t jumping up and down with excitement over any of the contestants we met on American Idol Nashville episode Thursday night.

I was far more pleased by something I stumbled across in the middle of the episode, entirely by accident.

Kristen McNamara has released a pair of singles on iTunes.

If you don’t remember Kristen, she was a former Nashville Star contestant and semifinalist from season eight of  Idol.

That was the year Idol advanced 32 singers to the semis and eliminated most after a single minute and a half performance.

Kristen was among those eliminated, despite a splendid semifinal version of  “Give Me One Reason.” You’ll never convince me she didn’t deserve a spot in the finals.

Of course, I disagreed with more than half of the selections for the finals on that butchered season of Idol.

Meanwhile, Kristen’s originals are called “Duval Street” and “Pirate.”

“Pirate” is a catchy dance tune I included in the featured video section of this site a couple of months ago.

I’ve included a snippet of the song from YouTube below so you can check it out.

Meanwhile, keep singing, Kristen.
