The songs being performed on tonight’s Season 12 performance finale of The Voice have hit iTunes.
But, remember, don’t start downloading until the show starts or those downloads won’t count as votes.
You also need to know this: according to a Voice public relations rep I communicated with this week, downloads of the contestant-coach duets will not count as votes.
Nor will contestants earn an iTunes bonus if those duets don’t land in the Top 10.
Not that you shouldn’t download those for strategic purposes. Say for instance, front-runner Lauren Duski gets all three of tonight’s performances in the Top 10. That’s one less spot in the Top 10 for another contestant to claim.
It’s also important to remember that streaming the songs through Apple Music also counts as votes. In fact, you can vote 10 times per song by streaming it; only once per song with downloads. So start streaming.
Head to the official The Voice voting rules for more details. It’s especially important to understand the streaming rules (Section 2.4).
Also be aware that for some strange reason, the cumulative voting window ends at 4 a.m. eastern time tonight.
And this line should disturb us all: “Producer and NBC reserve the right to change the limit on the number of votes that may be made by each voting method in the producer’s and/or NBC’s sole discretion.”
Yep, the rules really say that.
Now, on to tonight’s song list.
As in past finals, each member of the Top 4 will take the stage three times. They’ll perform a new cover song, an original and they’ll sing a duet with their coach.
Lauren is singing a song she co-wrote. Jesse is singing a song co-written by country music superstar Chris Stapleton. And it apparently took seven people to write Aliyah’s original.

Why was the voting closed when Emma Willis was still urging people to vote? I tried to vote and the voting was closed despite her saying we could still vote.
