Season 9

Where to find your favorite on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace

Here’s a switch. American Idol has decided you can track your favorite semifinalists this season on Twitter, MySpace and Facebook.

Don’t expect too much insider information to leak from the season Idols. The show tends to keep pretty tight reins on its contestants.

Last year, all the semifinalists were under contract until late August. Even those who had already been eliminated from the show needed Idol’s permission to be interviewed.

But, if you’d like to hear what your favorite contestant can say about the competition, here’s where to find them.

Of course, the semifinals start Tuesday with the girls, Wednesday with the guys and Thursday with the results show.

I’ll be blogging live during all three shows and providing performance by performance grades on Tuesday and Wednesday.
