American Idol and The Voice went head-to-head on Monday night for the past four weeks.

Who won the battle for eyeballs?

Technically, American Idol, with a higher ratings share among 18 to 49 year olds all four weeks.

But the numbers don’t show a sizeable shift from one show to the other.

And on nights when both shows had two hours of new performances, The Voice drew a larger overall estimated audience.

The two nights Idol dominated were Monday, April 7, when The Voice started the night with a one-hour recap show that likely frustrated viewers, and this past Monday, when The Voice aired a recap show with no new performances.

The next two weeks will be interesting to watch. The shows will go head to head again, with Idol airing more performances each night and giving fans a chance to vote live both nights.

Voting on The Voice won’t begin until the semifinals on Monday, May 12.

And here’s an interesting piece of trivia. With just its Top 24 shows, Idol offered fans more performances to vote on that The Voice will all season.

The head to head ratings so far.
