Yet another Idol album delayed

0

All those folks who pre-ordered Jason Castro’s first post-Idol album are going to have to wait a while longer for the goods to be delivered.

Say goodbye to a Nov. 17 release date.

Say hello to a release date sometime in 2010.

Gee, and some of those pre-order packages carried a $400 price tag. Of course, that also include a meet-n-greet or a five-minute phone call with Jason.

The dreadlocked one explained the delay in a message to fans on his Web site today.

It reads, in part: “As much as I can’t wait to get my music out there, I really don’t want to rush anything either.”

“As you know, I’ve poured my life into this album for the past several months – writing over 50 songs, recording a bunch of them, and working to get each one just right. We’re really close, but are making some final tweaks so it can be exactly the album that I imagined it would be! I’m so excited and think it’ll be worth the wait (it’s only a little longer anyway, right? :) .”

Jason adds that those who pre-ordered the album will be receiving a bonus track that just wouldn’t fit on the CD.

And the free mall tour continues. On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Jason will be performing at the Potomac Mills Mall near Washington, D.C., at 6 p.m.

If you’re counting, that makes three Idol CDs that have been postponed to 2010. The others: the second post-Idol albums from Kat McPhee and Bucky Covington.
