Nari Yella from The Voice Season 23
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, March 6.
Here’s more about NariYella.
* She’s 20 and from Lexington, Kentucky, according to her Facebook bio.
* She now lives in Philadelphia, Pa., and is a member of the Class of 2025 at the University of the Arts.
* In fact, the she delivered her first solo performance — a soulful cover of
“Stormy Weather” — at the university about a year ago.
* “Definitely enjoyed myself on stage & off,” she wrote on Facebook. “Overall I’m just grateful, loving what I do & doing what I love.”
* Even more impressive on her musical resume is the release of two singles last summer — “What You Like” and the very catchy “Talk 2 Much.” Check out the latter below.
* She’s also apparently a big fan of Silk Sonic with music video covers of three of the group’s songs featured on her YouTube channel.
* Last March, she also participated in a rally in honor of Ketanji Brown Jackson’s appointment as the first black woman on the Supreme Court. Sponsored by the Powered Up Foundation, the event was held at Philly’s City Hall.
