Hazel Gerson from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Hazel:
* She’s a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from the San Francisco Bay area and a student at California Polytechnic State University (Ca Poly).
* And she’s been releasing music since 2020, with 11 singles and a four-song EP called “Brandy Melville Sessions” from 2025 on streaming sites. Check out her impressive 2025 single, “home 4 summer,” below.
* “I write my music straight from my heart. I have been writing songs since I could write. Sharing my music makes me feel fulfilled and purposeful,” she writes in her Spotify bio.
* It’s also in her blood. Her mother is singer-songwriter and vocal coach Ruth Gerson. In fact, you’ll find some of her early releases on her mother’s YouTube channel. And she performed with her mother and her sister Emma as the Gerson Family Band when she was young.
* Hazel released a single called — “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” — earlier this year, calling it “my favorite song of mine.” And she followed up with a song called “Best of Me” on Thursday (Sept. 10). She wrote that it’s “one of those songs I’ve had in the archives for a while now and i’m so thrilled to finally share her with you all. exciting things coming very soon.” Wonder what she could be referring to?
* Hazel is also front woman for the band The No Shows, made up of five Poly Cal students. They appear to be an indie pop, pop-rock band.
* The No Shows don’t appear to have released music yet, but they’ve been working on original music, according to an interview Hazel did with KCPR earlier this year.
* Hazel is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and was named South Bay Teen Idol in 2019 when she was just 13.
