His audition: Kyle Schuesler, 19, Huntington Beach, Calif., performed “The Scientist” by Coldplay: A really nice opening from Kyle prompted a quick chair turn from John. Kyle continued to impress and got chair turns from Dan + Shay and Reba as well. Since Chance’s team was already full, he couldn’t turn. The means Kyle turned every available chair. Reba called his voice relaxing and soothing. John said he did a nice job of making the song his own. Dan complimented him on a “really great tone” and said he was blown away by Kyle’s falsetto. Shay praised the personality in his voice. Kyle decided to join Team Dan + Shay.

* And those who liked what they heard on the show will be thrilled to know that Kyle has already released music, to the tune of four singles.
* Two of those, “Can’t Be Wrong” and “Flower Stems and Lavender” dropped in 2022. The latter has more than 300,000 streams on Spotify.
* The other two songs — “Dear You” and “Snowy Summer” — came out earlier this year. He wrote the latter with Lauren McLamb Motter and Kayliann, adding “more coming soon.” Check out a snippet of “Snowy Summer” below.
* Kyle is a 2023 graduate of the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts MMET (music, media, entertainment and technology) program. He was a pop music major. According to his Voice bio, he was voted best male vocalist.
* In his website bio, Kyle describes his music as indie-folk and says he draws inspiration from the likes of Noah Kahan, The Lumineers and Zach Bryan.
* And while he accompanied himself on guitar for his blind audition, that bio indicates that he also plays mandolin, piano and harmonica.
* His Voice bio notes that he wrote “Snowy Summer” in Nashville and would like to move there to pursue music.
* Huntington Beach is a surf town and Kyle told The Voice he grew up surfing with his dad and siblings and was always inspired by his father’s work ethic.
