Niall Horan and Michael Bublé are two for two coaching for The Voice.
They’ve each coached two season. They’ve each coached a singer to victory both seasons.
And following the Season 28 blind auditions, they appear to have the strongest teams heading into the battle round, which kicks off Monday.
Niall has five four-chair turns on his team — Aiden Ross, Dustin Dale Gaspard, Kayleigh Clark, Kirbi and the country-pop trio DEK of Hearts. His 12 artists turned 38 chairs in the blind auditions, the most of any coach on Season 28.
Winning over four-chair turns is nothing new for Niall. But this season’s blinds were quite the turn-around for Michael.
In Season 27, he failed to lure a single singer with more than two chair turns to his team, yet still coached Adam David, a one-chair turn in the blinds, to victory.
This fall, Michael also has four four-chair turns on his team. They include Jazz McKenzie, Trinity Giselle, Teo Ramdell and Max Cooper. He also landed Elias Gomez at a time when Reba McEntire’s team was full, meaning Elias turned the maximum number of chairs available.
Snoop Dogg has the only other four-chair turns from the blinds on his team; that would be Sadie Dahl and Ralph Edwards.
But don’t count out Team Reba. Her team members turned the fewest chairs during the blinds, but part of that might be because Team Reba is filled with talented country singers. And some of the coaches are reluctant to turn for them, knowing the odds of luring one away from Reba aren’t great.
Besides, her three-chair turn — Aaron Nichols and Vinya Chhabra — are going to appeal to voters. The former because he’s the type of male country artist Voice fans rally behind; the latter because she’s incredibly talented and at home on stage at age 14.
Follow the links below for more on each artist, including information about music they’ve already released.
