Hannah Harper of American Idol Season 24

Her audition: Hannah Harper, 25, of Willow Springs, Missouri, performed “String Cheese” (an original): This young woman has a lovely country voice and this song, which she has released, is a great debut single. Carrie Underwood called it “about the most relatable song I’ve ever heard” and complimented the “beautiful simplicity” of her voice. Luke Bryan loves her mountain bluegrass sound. Carrie says she might be “my favorite person who’s walked through those doors.”

Here’s more about Hannah:

* To says she grew up in a musical family wound be an understatement. She was born and raised in Southeast Missouri and began traveling with her family’s gospel bluegrass band when she was about 9.

* On Idol, Hannah said her parents quit their day jobs in 2009 and bought a touring bus. The family lived on the bus for the next seven years. “It was a very unconventional upbringing, but I literally wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world,” she told Idol,

* She played fiddle and sang with The Harper Family band and was 14 when the band released its second album, “Through It All” in the summer of 2014.

* That album is still available on Apple Music. You’ll also find a 2016 follow-up, “My Song of Praise,” on streaming sites.

* These days, Hannah is the mother of three sons, embarking on a career as a solo country artist.

* Hannah didn’t announce her Idol audition until early January, writing: “Last year around this time, I was bathing the idea of pursuing a solo career in country music in prayer. I didn’t want to tread on ground that wasn’t appointed for my feet.

* “And boy, let me tell you… this is ground I never imagined myself standing on — but when He opened the door, I ran through it and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads.”

* Hannah has one single on streaming sites. It’s a song called “String Cheese” that she released as Hannah Noel. She calls it a “heartfelt tribute to motherhood” and released it on Mother’s Day 2025. It’s a truly touching song, and Hannah shows off a lovely, lovely tone on it.

* On Instagram, Hannah writes that the song came to her on a day when she felt overwhelmed. Until her youngest song crawled into her lap because he wanted her to open his snack.

* Writes Hannah: “I pray to soak in these moments while they still depend on me for their daily needs. I am incredibly thankful that the Lord entrusted me with three little boys, even on the heavy days when being a mom feels like a challenge.”
