Seth Witcher of American Idol Season 24

Idol returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie.

Here’s more about Seth:

* He’s a singer-songwriter and alternative artist from Allentown, Pa., who’s also spent time recording music and performing in Nashville.

* And we already know his Idol audition went pretty well. An Idol promo shows Seth holding a golden ticket and flashing a big smile.

* Seth has released lots of music dating back to 2019, including an album and a pair of EPs.

* His lasts EP, “Party Animal,” landed in November and includes a heartfelt song called “Nothing Matters.” It’s his most popular to date on Spotify with more than 125,000 streams.

* Seth’s previous releases include the 2018 album “Who Am I” and the 2023 EP “I’m Afraid of Love.”

* On his website, Seth describes his music as featuring “soul-penetrating lyrics” and weaving an eclectic tapestry across pop, punk, indie, singer-songwriter and RnB” music.

* In an interview with Lehigh Daily, Seth says he struggled with depression during his teenage years and wound up at Lehigh University studying engineering.

* “I realized I didn’t want to be an engineer. I was like, ‘You know what? I gonna do what makes my happy. I’m gonna sing.”

* He adds that his music “addresses the darker times to help people get through them.”

* Along the way, he’s developed a growing fan base that includes more than 50,000 followers on Instagram, more than 100,000 on TikTok and more than 800,000 likes on that site.
