Blair Monzingo traveled all the way from Albertson, N.C., to audition for American Idol in Texas.
And after journeying all that way, she said she was thrilled to get a golden ticket despite having bronchitis.
She lives just 45 minutes away from Scotty McCreery’s hometown, so it’s no surprise she lists him as her favorite Idol.
In fact, she says Scotty is the first Idol contestant she has voted for though she has watched the show for years.
She first auditioned at 17 and didn’t make it to Hollywood. She started singing in church at age 7.
“Since then, I’ve done talent shows, engagement parties, weddings, funerals, pretty much anything you can think of,” she says in her golden ticket interview.
