If you haven’t watched the meet-the-semifinalists videos over at americanidol.com, the most intriguing question asked is what we can expect from the contestants in the competition.
Here’s what the 12 guys who will take the stage Tuesday at 8 p.m. had to say.
If you missed the gallery of official photos, head here. And go here for links to the Twitter accounts for the guys in the semis.
The links attached to each name lead to a profile of the contestant.
Aaron Marcellus: “America can definitely expect a lot of energy. A lot of soul singing. And to have a good time.”
Adam Brock: “Songs that make you feel something. If it’s a happy song, I want you to not be able to stand still, to tap your feet, to smile. And if it’s a sad song, I want you to be bawling and your emotions totally raw.”
Chase Likens: “You can expect to see a lot of high-energy performances from me. A lot of cross-over country type music. I’m not hardcore country as in the traditional Scotty McCreery type country that he sings. I’m more like the Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts that are country music but cross over into the pop genre.”
Colton Dixon: “Each year, Idol has that one artist who is different. Daughtry was edgy and he was different. Of course, you had Adam Lambert. Not that I would go to that extreme. But I want to be that guy.”
Creighton Fraker: “You shouldn’t have any idea (what to expect) when it comes to me, because you never know what I’m going to do. Really.”
DeAndre Brackensick: “What you can expect on the show is basically me. I’m going to give everything I can and stay true to my style, stay true to DeAndre this time instead of trying to please everybody. I’m going to do what I do. I’m not just a falsetto singer, not just a Hawaian singer. That I have a different style and a different talent.”
Eben Franckewitz: “You can expect from me, songs that will kind of fit me more rather than older songs, because that’s what I have been singing — “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “You Are So Beautiful.” I’ve been doing a lot of older stuff and it’s time for me to show them the younger Eben.”
Heejun Han: “A great energy. Great sexiness. Hotness that temperature can’t even measure.”
Jeremy Rosado: “You can expect for me to do my very best on this show. I’ve worked very hard to get here. It’s been a long time coming. Five times. Don’t ever give up on your dreams. A lot of times they’re going to tell you you’re not good enough. Just keep going after it.”
Joshua Ledet: “I’m probably going to try to do a lot of diverse stuff, things that aren’t necessarily my style, to show people I can do other things. I think that’s what an artist is — someone who can sing anything.”
Phillip Phillips: “Me being myself. Just doing what I do in music and having fun with it.”
Reed Grimm: “I want to bring some more of my funk background, some more of that backbeat. Just hard, hot energy coming at you that you just can’t get rid of. They haven’t really seen that yet.”
