As I noted last week, Diana DeGarmo will perform her new single, “Good Goodbye,” on Friday on The Young and the Restless.

But you don’t have to wait until Friday to listen to the song. I’ve embedded it below.

Give it a listen. It’s a very pretty country song, and Diana sounds great on it.

Now, sounding great is quite a departure for Angelina, Diana’s character on The Young and the Restless. And it’ll be Diana as Angelina singing the song on The Young and the Restless.

Angelina is the daughter of a mobster. She’s from New Jersey. She normally sings horribly.

But Friday will mark a turning point for Angelina, and “the first time I will sing on the show in my real voice, rather than in Angelina’s Jersey-girl voice,” Diana said in a recent interview with TV Guide.

Diana co-wrote the song with Ace Young. Yep, that Ace Young — contestant on American Idol Season 5.

Diana and Ace started dating when they performed side by side on a Broadway production of Hair. Now they’re living together.

The TV Guide interviewer even raises the possibility of Ace joining Diana on the Young and the Restless at some point.

And Diana seems excited about the possibility.
