Ryan Seacrest played Adam Lambert’s new single, “For Your Entertainment,” this morning on his radio show.
Anyone hoping for a hard-driving rock tune from Idol’s season eight runner-up is going to be disappointed.
Anyone hoping for a dance number with a catchy chorus — “I bet you thought I was soft and sweet / Thought an angel swept you off your feet / But I’m about to turn up the heat / I’m here for your entertainment” — will be thrilled.
In an on-air interview, Adam referred to the song as “dance music with a glam rock shuffle beat.” Later he called it, “a good dress-up song. Perfect for Halloween.”
Fear not, rock music fans taken with Adam’s over-the-top performances on Idol.
There will be something for you, too, on Adam’s new album.
Describing his album to Ryan, Adam said, it includes songs that dip into an electro-pop feel and others “with a real rock sound. There’s something for everybody, and there’s something for every mood.”
Of course, Adam had already announced that he worked with Pink and Lady Gaga on two tracks for the album, giving fans another reason to look forward to its Nov. 24 release.
In other Adam news from his morning radio interview, he said he’ll dress up as a “glampire” for Halloween. And he said anyone taking his album cover seriously … well, they shouldn’t.
“My hope was that when you looked at it, they’d laugh and smile,” Adam said.
Ryan promises to play “For Your Entertainment” several more times this morning. Here’s the link so you can listen live. And here’s a link to an audio clip of the interview (not the song though).
