With Phillip Phillips preparing to undergo surgery to correct his kidney problem, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet are handling the media rounds for American Idol this week.
Typically, this is the week where the Idol winner hits the TV circuit. Not post-Season 11.
Jessica appeared on Live with Kelly today (see video above) and below. During the interview portion, she talks about why she can’t drive yet and how the judges’ save, at least in one sense, might have backfired because of the way she handled it.
Wednesday, Joshua will appear on the same show (9 a.m., WHTM locally).
Then Jessica will be back on air Friday, performing live on Today in a gig that has traditionally featured the Idol winner and runner-up.
As for Phillip, TMZ is reporting that surgery scheduled for this week has been postponed.
Fortunately, the first Idol summer tour dates aren’t until early July.
