Chris Rene, Rachel Crow, The X Factor

New music from Chris Rene, Rachel Crow

New music lands today from two of the top contenders on the first season of The X Factor.

Chris Rene previously released ‘Young Homie” — the song he repeatedly performed on The X Factor — as a single to only moderate success.

Now he’s back with a new single called “Trouble.”

I’m not a huge Chris Rene fan. I think the term I used to describe his singing ability is vocally challenged.

But “Trouble” is a very catchy tune about a gal who’s troublesome in the most captivating ways.

It even has an American Idol connection, having been co-written by Season 10 semifinalist Alex Lambert.

For young fans, there’s new music from Rachel Crow, a five-song self-titled EP.

The lead single for the 14-year-old is called “Mean Girls.”

Hey, it’s sort of cute. Especially the line: “Mean girls / I’m just gonna comb you out of my curls.”

And it’s age appropriate. Not a given seeing as how Simon Cowell had her singing The Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” during X Factor last year.

For those who don’t remember, Chris finished third on the first season of The X Factor; Rachel finished fifth.

So, here’s “Trouble” first, followed by “Mean Girls.”

Young Homie was only a moderate success?
    # 26 Billboard pop, # 30 US Airplay chart, #1 Billboard bubbling under hot 100
    #1 New Zealand (platinum)
#72 Canada hot 100, and 261000 units sold just online with 20 million free views on You Tube. The album (I’m right here) with Young Homie as the lead single is #5 itunes (pop), #31 itunes albums, #2 best selling album at wallmart music and that’s after 5 days of being released. Brittney Spears, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan and many others are also not vocal divas but are big stars. Writing music, lyrics, personality, it all counts not just vocal ability.
