With the release of her Greatest Hits Chapter 1 album set for next week, Kelly Clarkson has two songs from the album on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week.
“Don’t Rush,” her duet with Vince Gill, moved up eight spots on the chart this week, from 97 to 89.
And “Catch My Breath” re-entered the Hot 100 on number 96.
Both are actually doing better on other charts.
“Don’t Rush” is all the way up to number 23 among country songs; “Catch My Breath” is at number 19 among adult pop songs.
The greatest hits disc is set for a Monday release. You can pre-order it and a Smoakstack Sessions Vol. 2 EP form Kelly’s website.
The EP, recorded in Nashville, features Kelly singing “I Never Loved a Man,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Walking After Midnight,” “That Would be Good/ Use Somebody,” and “Lies.”
Among other chart highlights:
* Phillip Phillips’ “Home” moves up from number three to number two on the adult pop songs chart. The song is also still in the top 10 on the rock and digital songs charts.
* The new album from Chris Mann, a finalist on The Voice last year, dropped out of the Billboard 200. But “Roads” is number 12 among classical albums.
* The “Don’t Fail Me Now” single from Melanie Amaro, Season 1 winner of The X Factor, moves into the top 10 on the dance/club play chart for the first time, moving up from number 11 to number eight.
