Kiara Lanier walked into the American Idol auditions in Chicago claiming that Mariah Carey helped inspire her to sing.

By the time Kiara was done singing, Mariah Carey was praising her “huge potential.”

Kiara, 21, of Chicago, auditioned with Celine Dion’s “The Prayer” and was a unanimous choice to advance to Hollywood.

Before are three more samples of Kiara performing what I’m pretty sure are original songs.
