We met Briana Oakley during American Idol’s San Antonio audition.

Back in 2009, she was featured on America’s Most Talented Kids.

After returning to school, she told Idol she became one of America’s most bullied kids.

The situation got so bad, she said she ate lunch in the bathroom or with a teacher by her side because she didn’t feel safe.

But she said her mom made her realize that singing was a gift she needed to keep pursuing.

And, so, there she was, five years later, singing “Up to the Mountain” in front of Idol’s four celebrity judges.

They were impressed. Keith Urban said of her audition: “It all worked for me.” Nicki kept repeating “wow” over and over.

Just like that, Briana was off to Hollywood.
