Bryant Tadeo was eliminated after the solo round in Hollywood in Season 11.

Rather than being discouraged, it sounds like he walked away more determined to prove himself as a singer.

Now he’s back in Hollywood a second time and among those in the running to advance to the Las Vegas round.

If he makes it, he’ll be going home in a way.

About six months ago, he moved to Las Vegas to “be closer to opportunities to find work as a singer,” he told Pulse.

He’s a former winner of the Hawaii Idol competition and got a unanimous vote to advance to Hollywood this year after performing Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain” in Long Beach.

That was probably all the more special for Bryant because he lists Mariah Carey as among his musical inspirations.

The 2007 graduate of Waiakea High School is now 23 and wants to pursue a career as an R&B singer.

“This is a second chance for me to just pour out my heart on the stage,” he said of Season 12 of Idol.

“I think people get inspired by others who chase what they want, no strings attached. I think that could be me. I think people will see that through the camera.”

Here are three videos of Bryant performing.

“House of the Rising Sun”

“Breakeven”

“Give Me the Beat Boys”
