CMT will honor 2010’s Artists of the Year in a special to be broadcast Friday evening.
And those artists include season four American Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
It’s a fitting honor considering the year Carrie has had.
Her “Play On” album debuted at number one late last year and ran off a string of three straight number one county singles — “Cowboy Casanova,” “Temporary Home” and “Undo It.”
Single number four — “Mama’s Song” — was at number 10 on the county singles chart last week.
And more than a year after its release, “Play On” is still in the top 20 on Billboard’s county albums chart and in the top half of the Billboard 200.
Honored alongside Carrie as the other artists of the year will be Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band.
The show airs at 8 p.m. Friday, and you can head to CMT.com for more info on the show and more photos from the taping.
