The one exception: The Swon Brothers, country-singing brothers Zach and Colton from Muskogee, Okla., who placed third back in Season 4.
And they’ve continued their success after the show.
Their debut single, “Later On,” reached number 13 on Billboard’s country airplay chart and number 21 on its hot country songs chart.
Their self-titled first album debuted at number six on the Billboard country chart and number 28 on the Billboard 200 this week.
That 11-track album hit stores Oct. 14 and also includes their second single, “Pray For You,” which they recently performed on Today.
Other top tracks include “95,” “Colder” and “Same Old Highway,” and the album-closing “This Side of Heaven” features backing vocals by none other than Carrie Underwood.
Speaking of Carrie, the Swon Brothers paid tribute to her at a recent AMC honors show in Nashville, performing a medley of her songs “Wasted” and “See You Again.” Carrie was on hand to accept the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award.
Zach and Colton will be up for their own honors at the CMA Awards on Nov. 5 (8 p.m. on ABC). They’re nominated as top vocal duo of the year, alongside Dan + Shay, Love and Theft, Thompson Square and the likely winners, Florida Georgia Line.
To keep up with the Swon Brothers, follow them on Facebook, Twitter or their website.
