They might have found one in Loren Lott, one of the singers to advance to Hollywood from the Nashville auditions.

Loren Sharice Lott is a 21-year-old from San Diego, but she’s been attending school at Clark Atlanta University, studying mass media arts.

She’s also been working as an actress. Head to her Facebook page, and you can watch several music videos she’s appeared in, as well as a public service announcement encouraging parents to help their children develop good body images, lest they turn to dangerous plastic surgery to improve their self esteem.

But it was that acting background that nearly got Loren in trouble during her Idol audition.

She initially auditioned with Bruno Mars’ “Treasure,” but Harry Connick Jr. thought it came off as a little too theatrical — more like an actress singing than a singer pouring her soul into her music.

The judges asked what Loren might sing if she was washing the dishes.

Then she showed her sense of humor, pretending to wash dishes with her hands while belting out “Saving All My Love for You.”

That did it. Loren advanced with Keith and Jennifer praising her look, her voice and her star quality.

In an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Loren says she knows she can come off as a bit theatrical at times.

“I’m extremely bubbly,” she says in that interview. “When people get to know me and spend time with me, they realize, ‘Oh wait! That’s her literally all the time!’”

Besides, plenty of Idols have gone on to Broadway success, and that appears to be one of Loren’s aspirations.

Her dream in life is to play Nala in the live Lion King musical, she writes on Facebook.

She’s also been working on an original song called “The Hope,” though it doesn’t appear to have been released yet.
