Brooke Adee talks about the battle match we didn’t see

Brooke Adee classifies herself as an indie-alternative style performer.

Bay Brooks classified herself as a indie-folk singer-songwriter.

Blake Shelton forced both of them out of their comfort zone during the battle round on The Voice, asking them to perform Taylor Swift’s “Style.”

When the singing ended, Blake declared Brooke the winner, meaning she advances to the knockout round. Bay was eliminated in the process.

During a conference call with the media on Wednesday, Brooke admitted the song Blake selected meant the singers struggled at first. Of course, viewers didn’t see that on TV, because their performance was part of a three-song montage.

“We worked really, really hard on it,” Brooke said. “I kind of wish it wasn’t a montage, because it would have shown us working more with (guest mentor) Meghan (Trainor) and Blake. He really taught us how to do stage presence and be more comfortable.

“And he also showed us that we can expand what kind of music we can sing.”

Here are photos from the performance.
