I’m not sure if the above photo is what Crystal Bowersox had in mind when she auditioned for Idol. I mean, posing with a giant raisin?

But in the adorable photo below it looks like her son Tony was having lots of fun.

The photos were snapped Friday, after Crystal performed for more than 600 bloggers at the national BlissDom blog conference in Nashville.

Here’s hoping she wowed them. I’ve gone on the record before with my belief that “Farmer’s Daughter” is one of the best albums released to date by an Idol finalist.

And there are signs that her “Farmer’s Daughter” single is also catching on.

The video for the song is number one on CMT’s video countdown. That’s right, the country music TV station.

And MJ’sBigBlog reported this morning that “Farmer’s Daughter” has cracked the top 50 on the adult alternative rock chart.

The album slipped a bit last week, from 54 to 68 on the Billboard 200. But it’s also number 18 among rock albums.

So, apparently, the song and album are appealing to a diverse audience.

Rodney Ho with American Idol Buzz posted an extensive interview with Crystal last week.

During the interview, Crystal says she thinks the album is exceeding her label’s expectations.

“It’s gaining a slow momentum,” she says. “I hope it grows steadily. I want to make music the rest of my life.”

You can go here to read the interview and listen to Crystal perform two of the songs off her album, “Mason” and “Riding With the Radio.”
