American Idol Season 15

A look at who’s most likely to make the finals on American Idol

As strange as it sounds, the American Idol Season 15 finals begin tonight, even though we don’t yet know who has made the finals.

Oh, we know four of the competitors. Dalton Rapattoni, Trent Harmon, Oliva Rox and La’Porsha Renae got fast passes to the finals at the beginning of Wednesday’s wild card show.

But the fate of the remaining 10 contestants was left in the hands of voters. And those results won’t be announced until tonight’s show.

Who has the best chance of surviving?

Well, the songs from last night weren’t made availalbe on iTunes, so we can’t turn there for a hint.

But they were posted to YouTube. And as of 4 p.m., MacKenzie Bourg’s version of his original song “Roses” was far and away the most popular.

Below is a list of the 10 singers who performed last night, ranked in order of the popularity of their YouTube videos.

1. MacKenzie Bourg, “Roses” — 21,411 views

2. Sonika Vaid, “I Surrender” — 17,588 views

3. Avalon Young, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” — 17,407 views

4. Jenn Blosil, “True Colors” — 16,672 views

5. Tristan McIntosh, “What Hurts the Most” — 15,552 views

6. Thomas Stringfellow, “Story of My Life” — 15,035 views

7. Gianna Isabella, “I Put a Spell on You” — 14,945 views

8. Jeneve Rose Mitchell, “Ring of Fire” — 14,179 views

9. Lee Jean, “Make It Rain” — 13,754 views

10. Manny Torres, “Master Blaster” — 13,674 views

Remember, six of the 10 will advance to the finals.

Those numbers would indicate MacKenzie will probably make it. Lee Jean and Manny Torres appear to be long shots.

Check back at 8 p.m. I’ll be live blogging tonight’s show with song by song grades.
