That video, for the song “Sleeping With the One I Love,” debuted Sunday after the BET Awards.
It’s about a quartet of female inmates — Brenda, Pauletta, Rox and Fantasia, of course — and their encounters with a crooked prison guard.
Fantasia plays all four inmates on the slow, bluesy jam, one of the songs from her upcoming album, “The Definition of …”
That album is available for pre-order now on iTunes. It’s due out July 29.
Other songs released so far include lead single “No Time for It,” “So Blue” and “Ugly,” the country-ish song she debuted on the American Idol series finale.
As for the latest song, here’s how Fantasia described it to radio station WHUR: “My song talks about all the bad relationships, but I’m grateful for going through them.
“If I didn’t, I wouldn’t know what the good is. I’m thankful for those relationships because I know how to treat him and cherish what I have now,” she said, referring to her husband, Kendall Taylor, who she married last year.
