American Idol’s traveling museum was supposed to be in Washington today (Sunday) and in Baltimore on Tuesday.
The bad news: The bus (seen above) has been delayed by bad weather as it travels across the country and those stops have been postponed. No word yet on a scheduled Wednesday visit to Philly.
A public relations rep for Idol says the visits to D.C. and Baltimore will be rescheduled at the end of the tour, likely between Feb. 28 and March 2.
I’ll keep you posted if that happens. If you’re in those areas, the Idol Across American Mobile Experience might be worth checking out. After all, I’m told there’s no admission fee.
Visitors can check out some Idol memorabilia — including the guitar David Cook used on the show and the dress Carrie Underwood wore for the season four finale — and watch a special “Welcome Home” documentary featuring all nine of the show’s past winners.
They can also participate in a “Be Your Own Idol” singing experience.
As for the headline about winning a trip … any U.S. resident 15 and older will also be able to record his or her own take on Ryan’s opening line: “This is American Idol.”
They’ll be entered into a nationwide contest. The winner travels to Hollywood to deliver the line alongside Ryan on the Idol stage. For more about the contest rules, go here.
And who knows where that might lead? Just look at Ryan.
