The 28-year-old scored the biggest iTunes hit from Tuesday’s episode of The Voice with his cover of “When We Were Young.”

The song was sitting at number 18 on the iTunes overall singles chart as of noon.

In fact, that’s the best showing for a blind audition single in at least three seasons of The Voice.

Andi & Alex had the best blind audition performance in Season 9, hitting number 36. Eventual winner Alisan Porter cracked teh Top 30 (but not the Top 20) with her Season 10 cover of “Blue Bayou.”

Billy, as we heard Tuesday, is a former country music child star, scoring a Top 20 hit with “One Voice” at age 12. He’s now looking for a second chance in the music business as a pop singer.

Only one song from Monday’s The Voice — Christian Cueavas’ “How I am Supposed to Live Without You” — cracked the Top 200 on iTunes by noon the next day.

On Tuesday, three singers accomplished that feat. We McDonald hit number 122 with “Feeling Good”; Brendan Fletcher was at 157 with “Jolene.” Christian was still on the chart, at number 118. And Riley Elmore, who hit number one on the jazz chart with the “Way You Look Tonight” on Monday, also made it into the Top 200 at number 188.

Here’s where all the songs from Tuesday’s show were sitting on genre charts as of noon, when voting typically ends on a live show of The Voice. Please keep in mind when looking at the rankings that you’re not comparing apples to apples. It’s much easier to score a hit on the rock chart, for instance, than the pop chart.
