Lee DeWyze, Season 9 winner of American Idol, has released a new single.

It’s a haunting piano-driven tune called “Weight.”

“It’s definitely one of those songs that was fueled by a lot of things that have gone on in my life, and I wanted to put them in a song,” Lee told Digital Journal. “It turned out that this song in particular, with just the piano and the vocal, was everything it needed, and I was really happy with the result.”

Lee is also heading out on a winter tour that begins with a Thursday night show in Richmond, Va.

And on Friday, he’ll be performing at Tin Angel in Philly. Tickets for the show are $17; a meet-and-greet session is available for $50.
