The success of his latest single has helped earn Scotty McCreery a new record deal.

Scotty announced Tuesday that he has signed with Triple Tigers Records, an imprint of Sony Music Entertainment.

The Season 10 winner of American Idol, Scotty and Universal Music Group’s Mercury Nashville parted ways in early 2016.

That was before Scotty released his current single, “Five More Minutes,” independently.

The day of its release, the song darted to number three on the iTunes country singles chart. It’s earned more than 10 million plays on Spotify.

For the past 12 weeks, it’s on the Billboard country charts as well — a new peak of number 40 on the Country Airplay chart this week and 43 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

All of which is quite impressive for an independent release.

“We are very proud to represent Scotty McCreery,” Triple Tigers Records General Manager Norbert Nix said in a press release announcing the signing.

“He is an absolute pro and an artist of great integrity. We were blown away when we heard ‘Five More Minutes’ and are looking forward to representing Scotty’s new music to his millions of fans.”

Added Scotty on Facebook: “Can’t tell y’all how fired up I am to sign with Triple Tigers / Sony Music today! Time to get to work on the rest of this album!”

Label or not, Scotty has continue to tour and has two upcoming dates in the area.

He’ll be performing at the Sugarhouse Casino in Philly on Sept. 16 and at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., on Sept. 24.
