Emily Keener has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her fourth album.

At the age of 18, Emily Keener has already released three albums.

And guess what? Album number four is on the way.

Emily has launched a Kickstarter for a new project, scheduled for release late next year.

And with 20 days still to go in that campaign, she’s already released more than 40 percent of her goal of $9,999.

Emily says she doesn’t have a name for the new album yet. But she makes this promise in her Kickstarter pitch: It’ll be her most personal music yet.

“I have never released music this personal or raw, and it scares me a little, but I feel so compelled to do it anyway,” she writes in that pitch.

“The reason being this: In my humble opinion, it is the duty of the songwriter to speak on the human condition and speak to the human heart. Suffering is an integral season in every life, and one that may recur over and over again with each harsh blow, disappointment, heartbreak, and loss.

“Suffering can also be a slow, cold burn that sticks and melts and freezes you into stone. This year and throughout my life, I have tasted these feelings; with no one responsible besides nature/fate/reality.

“I am just like everyone else on this earth. It is the duty of the songwriter to speak on these universal things — suffering, love, happiness, passing through time, friendship — because each listener will identify in their own unique way.”

Naturally, digital versions of the new project will be available. But Emily plans to produce the new album in CDs and on vinyl as well, the latter for the first time.

You can check out the rewards she’s offering to supporters and a snippet of her new music on her Kickstarter page.

Two of Emily’s previous albums came before she landed a spot on The Voice Season 10 at age 16 and advanced all the way to the Top 12.

Since then, she’s served up “Breakfast,” an impressive 11-track album that includes standout tracks like “Lorelei,” “Fire and Brimstone” and a lovely ballad called “Pretend.”
