Looks like Kristy Lee Cook will have a new single to promote when she plays the York Fair in September.
The Hollywood Reporter says her next single is at country radio.
And, according to a Tweet this afternoon, the song will be released Tuesday, Aug. 13.
It’s called “Wherever Love Goes,” and it’s a duet with Randy Houser.
That fact alone might get Kristy Lee some airplay on country radio.
Houser’s title track from his latest album — “How Country Feels” — hit number one on Billboard’s country singles chart and the followup, “Running’ Outta Moonlight,” is sitting at number five.
“Wherever Love Goes” actually appears on “How Country Feels” as a Randy Houser song, featuring Kristy Lee.
In the Hollywood Reporter piece, Kristy Lee says the song is a favorite of Broken Bow president Benny Brown.
Once it was decided that she would release the song as a single, some of the verses were recorded and switched around to make the ballad more her song.
She called it a “powerful song. I can picture it being played at a ton of weddings.”
It marks Kristy Lee’s second single with Broken Bow, following “Ranger Airborne Infantry,” which peaked at number 50 on Billboard’s country airplay chart.
You’ll have a chance to hear both songs live at the York Fair in September. Kristy Lee will be one of the artists featured on the WGTY Great Country Radio Stage.
Her show is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9. The shows are free with admission to the York Fair.
