Jessica Sanchez, the Season 11 runner-up on American Idol, has released a new single.
And the 19-year-old says every penny made from the sales of “This Love” on iTunes will go to benefit a good cause.
That cause is the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to individuals in the Philippines, as well as to people in need in other sites around the world.
On her Facebook page, Jessica calls her trip to the Philippines last year to help the foundation “life changing.” She plans to head back next week.
“When I was younger, before Idol … I told myself I need to help the world become better and I want to be a part of that change,” Jessica says.
The single is also the first new music we’ve gotten from Jessica since her debut album, “You, Me and the Music,” which came out in April 2013 and debuted at number 26 on the Billboard 200.
In a recent radio interview, Jessica said she’s been working on more new music with “an urban pop feel, showing who I really am, because on the show I did a lot of ballads.”
“This Love” is available on iTunes for just 69 cents. Here’s the song.
