This weekend, we get the debut of a new song from one season eight’s top finishers.
And we’re now less than a month away from the release of the first in a series of season eight Idol album releases.
Kris Allen will start things off with the release of his debut album on Nov. 17, followed by Adam Lambert on Nov. 24 and Allison Iraheta on Dec. 1.
And before the release of their debut albums, all three will be showcased on Wal-Mart’s Soundcheck Web site, which features interviews and music from performers about to release CDs.
Their soundcheck episode will go live on Nov. 1. Here’s a link to a sample of what you can expect.
Now, as for the new song, it’s from Adam Lambert and has nothing to with his new album. It’s from the upcoming film “2012” and it’s called “Time for Miracles.”
Before Saturday, only a snippet of the song was available. Now the full track has surfaced on YouTube, and here’s a link to the Rockstar Weekly Web site, which has posted a high quality audio version of the song.
No one will be disappointed by the range Adam displays on the song.
Speaking of Adam’s range, producer Rob Cavallo raves over it in a video interview about the upcoming album. Here’s a link to that interview.
Now, as for the other upcoming Idol albums, Kris Allen says his CD will be “very guitar-driven and very piano-driven” in this interview.
And in this interview with MTV, Allison promises her new album will include “harder stuff” that the very pop radio friendly first single, “Friday I’ll Be Over You.”
Of course, that takes care of the first-, second- and fourth-place finishers from second eight.
What about Danny Gokey, who finished third?
In a Tweet this week, he announced that he was working on finishing the fourth song for his upcoming country album. I haven’t seen anything about a potential release date. And in another, he indicated he is working with the digital team from his label to design his Web site.
