Alisan Porter makes a triumphant return to The Voice

Porter, Season 10 winner of The Voice, returned to the show Tuesday night to perform her new single.

And, wow, did she ever perform it.

Her rousing rendition of “Deep Water” was one of the highlights of the results show.

It also sent the song soaring on the iTunes charts.

On the show, Alisan described “Deep Water” as a song about “connections” and “finding your way with another person who is finding their way.”

Better news: An EP of original Alisan music is coming this summer. It’ll be called “I Come in Pieces.”

You’ll recall that Alisan walked away from a major label deal with Republic Records to release her new music independently.

In a recent interview with People, Alisan calls the deal “all positive” but says she had a clear vision for herself as an artist even if it wasn’t “the most cookie-cutter commercial radio” type of vision.

As for the EP, Alisan says it will show off her rock side, her soulful ballad side and her country side.

“Everything has a super emotional message or a powerful message,” she told People. “I didn’t want to create anything or to be a part of anything that wasn’t super authentically me.

“I’ve been a songwriter for a long time, and I definitely was ready to write the best songs of my life and not sing other people’s songs at this particular moment because I felt like I had such a story and such a message and so much to talk about.”

Bravo, Alisan.
