New post-Voice music out this week includes an EP from Amanda Lee Peers and singles from Elise Azkoul and Katie Basden.

Here’s a bit about each of those releases.

The links below take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.

* Amanda Lee Peers from Season 7 released a six-song EP called “Sinner” that has been in the works since 2018. She calls the music “a hybrid of dark soul, R&B and rock” and the project includes the brilliant, plaintive “Blood on the Strings” and the equally addictive “Change the Game.” The EPs theme has “largely to do with religion,” which explains the cover art, Amanda says on her website. “I created a digital painting of myself, reminiscent of an old renaissance portrait, then spray painted the word “Sinner” over the top. I wanted it to feel gothic but with a modern twist.” “Sinner” follows 2015’s “Summertime State of Mind” as her second EP since appearing on The Voice.

* Elise Azkoul from Season 17 released her fourth single since the show on Friday. It’s a catchy upbeat pop tune called “Like Nobody.” And the focus in on self-confidence. Writes Elise on social media: “You just gotta feel yourself, take a little love, cuz ur like NOBODY ELSE! You are one of a kind, & perfectly you! Show yourself some love!”

* Katie Basden from Season 10 cuts loose on a new soulful rocker called “It Kills Me.” On Instagram, Katie explains that the song “came from a place of pure frustration with unrequited love and I decided to write my real feelings about it. I didn’t actually mean them for real for real; I don’t want nobody to really die. But I needed to get those feelings out of my brain, so I leaned to our popular hyperbolic American rhetoric, with a lil witchiness involved.” Oh, there’s a music video too.
