Brooke WhiteContestants keep telling me an appearance on Ameircan Idol opens doors to all sorts of opportuntiies. Well, here’s another example.

Judges were just announced for the 2010 Miss America Pageant.

And the seven judges include: Brooke White, who finished fifth on season seven of American Idol.

Other judges include Vivica Fox, Katie Marman (Miss America 2002), Shawn Johnson (2008 Olympic gold medalist), Dave Koz (six-time Grammy nominee), Paul Rodriguez and Rush Limbaugh.

The Miss America pageant will be broadcast on TLC Saturday, Jan. 30, from the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Since Idol, Brooke has released her second independent album, “High Hopes & Heartbreak.”

You can head to her MySpace page to check out several of the tracks, including “Radio, Radio,” “When We Were One,” “California Song” and “Smile.” It’s without doubt one of the better Idol music releases of 2009 (review here; interview with Brooke here).
