Braden Rumfelt likely knew he was a bit of a longshot to make the American Idol finale. That might be why he didn’t immediately proclaim he was “in it to win it” when urged to do so by Randy Jackson during their mentoring session for Top 5 night. Regardless, the 22-year-old from Murphy, N.C.,…
Ryan Seacrest opened Monday’s American Idol by reminding fans that the semifinals are one of the most magical nights of the season. Well, it really wasn’t. I’d call it half ridiculous, half musicially impressive, and totally misguided. And not one iota of the blame falls on the Top 5. Every bit of the blame…
The finals are set on American Idol. Next Monday night, Hannah Harper, Keyla Richardson and Jordan McCullough will square off for the Season 24 American Idol crown. They advanced following a Monday night show that included duets with members of Season 5 of American Idol, mentoring by original judge Randy Jackson and guest judging by…
Tonight, American Idol voters pick the finalists for Season 24. We’re down to a Top 5 of Hannah Harper, Keyla Richardson, Jordan McCullough, Chris Tungseth and Braden Rumfelt. Two head home at the end of tonight’s show. The other three head home for those renown American Idol homecoming celebrations and concerts. But first, everyone…
Welp, I think the second half of Monday’s American Idol proved my point. Given a wide range of songs and genres to choose from, American Idol’s Season 24 cast can be counted on to deliver solid performances. Force them out of their comfort zone and make them cover songs they wouldn’t normally choose to,…
American Idol’s ratings bounced back nicely this week. In fact, the total estimated audience for Sunday’s show checked in a 5.36 million. That’s up slightly from last season’s Top 7 show (5.27 million). That’s up 5 percent over the previous week’s show (5.07 million). And it’s Idol’s largest audience since the Hollywood Week episode…
Hannah Harper continues to appear the clear favorite heading into the final two weeks of American Idol Season 24. Based on Facebook views, Hannah scored the most popular performane during both rounds of the competition Monday night. That’s in spite of highly-praised performances from Keyla Richardson and Jordan McCullough. And it continues a trend…
Between last week’s performance of “A Whole New World” and this week’s performance of “Best Part,” Daniel Stallworth had been dazzling the American Idol judges. But it wasn’t enough to save him Monday night. The 27-year-old music teacher from Moss Point, Mississippi, was eliminated at the end of Monday’s Top 7 show. In a…
Throughout his run on American Idol, the judges praised Brooks Rosser for his unique vocals. Those unique vocals wound up taking him all the way to the Top 7 before his elimination Monday night. That elimination followed one of his strongest nights on the show, as he showed off those vocals singing Taylor Swift’s…
At the end of Monday’s American Idol, Chris Tungseth, Brooks and Daniel Stallworth were standing center stage with Ryan Seacrest. Two would go home. One would advance to the Top 5. The one would up being Chris, as he joined Keyla Richardson, Braden Rumfelt, Jordan McCullough and Hannah Harper as singers who will compete for…
