For her blind audition on The Voice, Bella DeNapoli put a singer-songwriter spin on the pop single “Damaged” by Danity Kane.

It took a while for The Voice judges to react.

But when they did — after a glorious glory note from Bella — Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande and John Legend turned almost simultaneously to ensure Bella a spot on the show.

Ariana called her “such a great singer.” And Bella opted to join Team Ariana.

Here’s what Bella, 22, of Long Island, N.Y., told Voice Views about her blind audition experience.

Voice Views: How did you wind up auditioning for Season 21?

Bella: I auditioned for this season in hopes to make my dreams come true! I have always dreamed of being on The Voice stage, but more so now than ever for this season, due to the queen herself Ariana Grande! I could not be happier or more excited to share with America who Bella is!

Voice Views:. Why did you decide to perform “Damaged”?

Bella: I decided to sing “Damaged” by Danity Kane because my Dad and I created this rendition together. Being born into a musically inclined family, I am constantly performing with my family so choosing this song and this rendition I created with my father felt so special!

Voice Views: How would you describe that blind audition experience?

Bella: My blind audition experience was incredible. The rollercoaster of emotions the opportunity brought my way were things I have never felt before but I learned to channel into my audition! It’s not everyday that you get the chance to sing in front of the top artists in the world so no matter what the outcome was, I went out there and enjoyed every second!

Voice Views: And why did you decide to join Team Ariana?

Bella: I decided to go with Team Ariana, (not just because of the yellow lunchbox that matched my yellow suit) but because I felt that I would benefit most from her artistic approach and felt like she could help me discover my voice on a whole other level!
