And while he didn’t write the song, Cade told Music Industry Weekly he certainly had no trouble relating to the message in “Baby, Let’s Do This.”
Cade, of course, is engaged to fellow Season 16 American Idol standout Gabby Barrett, who is busy promoting her second single (“One of the Good Ones”) as a Warner Brothers Nashville artist.
“This song is such an expression of both Gabby’s and my heart over the past year,” Cade told the site. “We have traveled constantly and usually apart.
“Thus, we would have these midnight conversations of “’kay, I’m coming to get you and we’re just gonna go get married. This is absolutely unbearable.’ And in light of all those thoughts and wants that are still going on to this day, this song when I heard it and was able to start working on it – it was just a ‘wow’ moment. I can’t believe I got a song that is such an accurate ballad of my confession to my soon-to-be bride.”
Jim Collins and Spence Peppard wrote the song, which marks Cade’s first release since “Crown” last December.
A music video is coming soon too.
Guess who makes a guest appearance?
Here’s “Baby, Let’s Do This.”
