Cam Spinks made it all the way to the knockout round on The Voice before being eliminated in a knockout round episode that aired Monday night.

Cam performed “Rumor” by Lee Brice and got positive feedback on the performance.

But Blake Shelton named Todd Tilghman winner of the match and Cam’s Voice journey ended when he wasn’t stolen by another coach.

Cam, 29, from Alabaster, Ala., turned two chairs with his blind audition performance of “Wave on Wave” by Pat Green. He then won a battle round match with Kailey Abel; they sang “What Ifs.”

Here’s what Cam told Voice Views about his time on the show and his post-Voice plans.

Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?

Cam: My biggest takeaway from the show was meeting and getting to know the other artists. Season 18 is a wildly talented bunch and I was grateful to be in their company.

Voice Views: Which was your favorite Voice performance and why?

Cam: I think my favorite performance was the blind audition. It was my first performance for the show, and there just ain’t no time like the first time

Voice Views: What are your post-Voice plans musically? Where are you hoping this opportunity leads?

Cam: I plan on returning the focus back to my original music. Get back in the studio and start to performing as soon as it’s safe again. I want to capitalize on the momentum from the show as much as possible.

Voice Views: Do you have plans to release new music? If so, what can you tell us about that?

Cam: I sure do. As I mentioned earlier, that’s my main focus now. Especially during this quarantine time period where performing is at a standstill. My goal is to have enough music ready to trickle out incrementally over the next year or so.

Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?

Cam: I had a blast throughout the entire experience. And I can say enough about the quality of artists that the show manages to discover. I’m grateful to have been included this season.
