At this point, the most successful singing show alumni of them all is Camila Cabello.
And the 21-year-old Cuban-American singer added another accomplishment to her long list at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards.
Camila walked away with the show’s Billboard Achievement Award.
Her debut solo album Camila hit number one on the Billboard 200. Her single “Havana” hit number one on the Hot 100. And she scored another Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 with her followup single, “Never Be the Same.”
Camila, of course, was a contestant on Season 2 of The X Factor. Cut in the bootcamp round, she was brought back as part of the show-created girl group Fifth Harmony, which also included Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane.
She left the group in December 2016 to pursue a solo career.
Camila was up for two other Billboard awards Sunday night, but the honor for Best New Artist went to Khalid and the award for Best Female Artist went to Taylor Swift. Camila is currently opening for Taylor on her “Reputation” tour.
Camila also performed during Sunday’s show, singing “Havana” and the new single “Sangria Wine” with Pharrell Williams.
