Carrie, Kellie up for CMT video awards tonight

Two of American Idols most successful alumni will be up for honors tonight at the 2010 CMT Video Awards.

Carrie Underwood is nominated for Video of the Year (“Cowboy Casanova”), Female Video of the Years (also “Cowboy Casanova) and CMT Performance of the Year (“Temporary Home” from CMT’s Invitation Only show).

Kellie Pickler has a single nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year (“Best Days of Your Life”), the video she did with Taylor Swift. Taylor and Kellie were also wrote the song together.

The CMT Awards begin at 8 p.m. tonight; Kid Rock will be the host.

Other nominees for Video of the Year include:
Toby Keith for “American Ride,”
Lady Antebellum for “Need You Now,”
Keith Urban for “Til Summer Comes Around,”
Jason Aldean for “The Truth,”
Miranda Lambert for “White Liar,”
Taylor Swift for “You Belong with Me,”
Kenny Chesney for “Out Last Night,”
Zac Brown Band for “Toes”
Brad Paisley for “Welcome to the Future”

Oh, another reason to watch: Carrie Underwood is also among the performers.
