You just knew some of The X Factor finalists were going to get the ol’ American Idol makeover treatment, but, wow.
Some of these are pretty dramatic. Check out poor little Rachel Crow (at right), for instance.

If they’re in black and white, it’s because they were provided that way.
Personally, I think all of Phillip Lomax’s should have been B&W. After all, he’s the contestant determined to sing like Sinatra.
Anyway, here they are American — you’re touched up final 17 — because, apparently, Simon decided he needed an extra voice on his team.

Phillip Lomax was sent home tonight. Big mistake. He was my favourite. With looks, presence, talent, showmanship, he had it all. I know I will see him on broadway. I will greatly miss him on the show, however. Perhaps the produders will realize their mistake and bring him back.
Astro should have gone home. He’s 14, cocky and doesn’t sing. This was a singing contest.
