Clay Aiken in a guest starring TV role tonight

Clay Aiken fans will want to tune in to “Drop Dead Diva” tonight at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.

The season two Idol runner-up has a guest starring role on the show.

For the unaware, “Drop Dead Diva” is about a plus-sized lawyer named Jane Bingum. Her body is inhabited by an aspiring model named Deb Dobkins, who was proclaimed a self-centered “zero” when she reached the gates of heaven.

Anyway, tonight’s episode focuses on two young girls who want to attend prom as dates, only to be told by school administrators that same-sex couples aren’t allowed at the event.

Wanda Sykes will also guest star as a judge. She and Clay join a long list of celebrities to make an appearance on the show. That list also includes Paul Abdul, who took her own turn as a judge of the robed type.

Something else Clay fans won’t want to miss: He’ll be doing a live video chat with members of his fan club at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. But you must be a fan club member to participate.

Go here for more information. According to his website, the chat will be recorded for playback there for fans who miss it live.
