D.R. King and Jackie Foster created music magic when they were paired up during the battle round on Season 14 of The Voice.

Their cover of Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” was the most popular of the 24 songs from the show’s battle round, cracking the Top 100 on iTunes and the Top 25 on its pop singles chart.

Well, D.R. decided that “once was not enough for us.”

So when he prepared to cut his post-show debut single, “Love Is a Drug,” he dialed up his former colleague from The Voice.

The result is another dose of music magic. And one of the best of the hundreds of post-Voice songs released in 2018.

D.R. wrote the song with Brielle Brown and Marc Swersky and it’s from his upcoming EP, “It’s My Life.” He hasn’t posted a release date for that yet.

For those who don’t remember, both Jackie and D.R. survived that battle round match. D.R. advanced on Team Kelly Clarkson and wound up finishing Top 12. Jackie was stolen and finished in the Top 8,

She and her band — Jackie Foster and Self Portraits — released their own post-show debut, “Poison,” earlier this summer.

Here’s the lyric video for “Love Is a Drug.” This one does come with an explicit lyric warning.
