David Archuleta, American Idol’s Season 7 runner-up, has announced a new holiday album and tour.

Hold it, summer isn’t even over and we’re already talking Christmas music?

At least the good news is that we’re talking about Christmas music David Archuleta style.

That conjures up memories of his 2009 “Christmas From the Heart” album, which remains one of the best holiday collections we’ve ever gotten from a former singing show standout.

David’s second holiday album will land Nov. 2. It’s called “Winter in the Air” and David started working on the project back in January.

In fact, appropriately enough, one writing sessions was canceled by a snowstorm, another by an ice storm, David told Billboard in an interview you can check out here.

And, yep, writing sessions means there will be original music on the new album — three new songs, including the title track, “He Is Born” and “Christmas Every Day.” The latter features a vocal assist from former Idol standout Melinda Doolittle and, if you don’t mind Christmas music in September, you can check it out at the Billboard link.

Of course, the originals will be mixed with covers of holiday classics. In the interview, David mentions “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Mary Did You Know,” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”

Oh, and that’s not all. David is planning a four-song EP in Spanish to accompany the English release. And he’s planning a holiday tour that will kick off Nov. 26 in L.A. and feature 15 dates across the country. Check out those in the photo. Ticket information is available through David’s website. Tickets for some shows are already available.
